Dubai Police said that 25,841 people reported cybercrime on the e-crime platform in 2021.

Brigadier General Jamal Al Jallaf, director of the Criminal Investigation Department of Dubai Police, spoke about the striking cybercrimes. The police arrested three men who swindled a Dubai resident and his daughter out of Dh47,000. The police also detained a couple for an online scam involving fake job vacancies, which resulted in more than 20 people being affected.

Brigadier Jamal Al Jallaf urged people to use the e-crime platform to report online fraud, regardless of whether the criminals succeeded in doing so. He said:

The e-crime platform has significantly helped curb cybercrime and detect new methods of scamming people.
