The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) recognised the Dubai FDI Monitor open data initiative as a best practice among investment promotion agencies (IPAs) for monitoring and evaluation.

The platform enables real-time tracking and recording of five different types of FDI, including greenfield FDI, using advanced methodology and intelligence features to enable investors to assess the competitiveness of Dubai in terms of investment.

The UNESCAP has also included the Dubai FDI Monitor in its Handbook on Policies, Promotion and Facilitation of Foreign Direct Investment for Sustainable Development in Asia and the Pacific.

Fahad Al Gergawi, CEO of Dubai FDI said:

This esteemed recognition for the UNESCAP consolidates Dubai’s ambitious journey towards nurturing close cooperation with global investors and partnerships with FDI source countries.

In 2021, Dubai was ranked number one in the world for FDI attraction, surpassing London and Singapore for the first time.
