Instagram has allowed all users to post 60-second Stories. Late last year, the company began testing the change among a limited number of users, TechCrunch reported.

Users will now be able to post continuous stories that won't be interrupted every 15 seconds, and viewers will no longer have to constantly press a button to watch a long video they might not want to watch.

A Meta spokesperson said:

We are always working on ways to improve the Stories experience. Now, you’ll be able to play and create Stories continuously for up to 60 seconds, instead of being automatically cut into 15 second clips.

Instagram is giving increasing importance to video. In June, the company added support for longer Instagram Reels of up to 90 seconds, up from the previous limit of 60 seconds. Instagram also recently made a system change that automatically publishes new video posts of less than 15 minutes in length as Reels.
