Emirates to Train Cabin Crew in Metaverse

Emirates, the biggest airline in the Middle East based in Dubai, plans to expand its cabin crew by 4,000 bringing the total number to 20,000 by next year.

The company announced that the metaverse would play a key role in training newly hired and existent cabin crew. The metaverse is used to simulate walking into a A350, the type of aircraft Emirates plans to start operating soon. The A350 is being configured in Humboldt, US.

We used metaverse, virtual reality and walked into the aircraft and looked at every detail, every gap in the aircraft, whether it is in the galley or with the seats. We have configured an aircraft and what we see there today is exactly what we’ll see in 2024,

says Adel Ahmed Al Redha, chief operating officer of Emirates.

He added that without the new technology, Emirates will not be able to deliver the training in an efficient and accurate manner.
