X is leveraging Grok to publish AI-generated summaries of trending news and topics, similar to Twitter Moments, under the feature called "Stories on X," currently available to premium subscribers.

Grok uses user posts to generate text snippets, covering a range of topics from news to conversations happening on the platform. Stories include summaries of events like Apple's earnings report and discussions such as "Musk, Experts Debate National Debt."

This addition is similar to Twitter's Moments, which was discontinued in 2022. They come with a disclaimer acknowledging the potential for errors and advising users to verify the information.

Despite its potential, Grok has faced criticism for inaccuracies, such as generating a story suggesting NBA player Klay Thompson went on a "vandalism spree" due to misinterpreting the context of a basketball game and phrase “throwing bricks”.
