According to a report by the Wall Street Journal, the tech giant is working on "AI chips" to power data center servers.

The project, internally known as "ACDC" (Apple Chips in Data Center), underscores Apple's commitment to AI, with expectations of unveiling new AI-based features at WWDC 2024. Analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities suggested that Apple might utilize both M2 Ultra and M4 chips to drive servers dedicated to iOS 18's forthcoming AI capabilities.

Apple's focus on AI extends to developing its own language models capable of offline operation. However, these models have limitations, prompting the need for online alternatives to provide more accurate results.

Reports also suggest that Apple has been in discussions with OpenAI and Google for utilizing their AI technologies in iOS 18, though the extent of these collaborations remains uncertain.
