Abu Dhabi Police have succeeded in applying artificial intelligence systems to improve road safety for drivers and road users in line with the world's latest cutting-edge technology.
In a statement on the occasion of Arab Traffic Week, which the traffic authorities are celebrating from May 4 to 10 under the slogan "Safe and Advanced Traffic", Abu Dhabi Police stressed the importance of developing working mechanisms to improve road safety using the latest technologies backed by artificial intelligence.
One of the reasons for the high level of safety in Abu Dhabi is the use of advanced technology. For instance, the Safe City Centre has been launched, which is an advanced safety information hub that uses artificial intelligence and big data techniques to enhance road safety management and forecasting for crime control and pre- and post-crash recovery.
The systems, which analyse historical, real-time and instantaneous to support analytical and future forecasts and provide them to the police, help achieve higher levels of crash reduction and support quality of life.
The Safe City acts as an innovative sensor hub through its connection to the national early warning system and works to send warning messages to the public about risks and threats before and after they occur, thereby enabling people to anticipate events through a system to detect, broadcast and send alerts to public road users in the emirate.
Artificial Intelligence is used to serve traffic by supporting the Safe City System, through which mechanisms are developed to assess, support and manage road safety based on big data and predict driver behaviour using classification, learning and training techniques.
This system supports a system of digital violations that are edited without any human intervention.
