Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai announced that Dubai Metaverse Assembly, a new global event bringing together regional and international experts to discuss the future of the metaverse, will be held in Dubai on September 28-29.

The event aims at exploring how the new technology can be put to good use across different sectors of economy, discussing the potential of humanising its applications and leveraging opportunities across strategic sectors. The assembly will host more than 300 global experts, policymakers, and decision-makers from more than 40 organisations. The Assembly will be in Dubai's Museum of the Future and Emirates Towers.

The metaverse is a promising digital world. We aim to harness this technology to enhance the quality of life in the UAE and across the globe,

Sheikh Hamdan said.

The Assembly is yet another action taken by the UAE to establish the country as a global hub for innovation and futuristic transformations. In May, a Dubai task force to track the latest developments in the digital economy was formed. The committee was responsible for devising Dubai Metaverse Strategy, which was launched yesterday.
