As highlighted at Kaspersky Cyber Security Weekend - META 2024, cyber threats for endpoints — any computers, be it laptops or desktops — remained persistent in 2023.

In total, Kaspersky's endpoint solutions blocked 72.7 million threats in the Middle East, 36.7 million in Africa, and 9.4 million in Turkey in 2023. The percentage of users potentially affected by these attacks is 41% for the Middle East, 44% for Africa, and 38% for Turkey. Despite the importance of effective endpoint protection solutions, it is possible to minimize the risk of cyber threats to endpoints by replacing laptops and desktops (thick clients) with thin clients running the Cyber Immune operating system.

The thin client is a compact corporate computer in which the storage of information, as well as the direct place of work of all service applications are placed on the server.

Unlike other solutions on the market, Kaspersky Lab's solution has Cyber Immunity ("innate" protection against cyber threats). This makes the device more resistant to attacks and eliminates the possibility of exploiting a wide range of vulnerabilities typical of traditional thin clients.

Research shows that thin clients that run on traditional operating systems can be hacked with a simple tool in minutes and be used to spy on users and get hold of confidential data,

comments Victor Ivanovsky, KasperskyOS Business Development Lead.

We believe that the future of thin client development should be determined by Cyber Immunity. Attacks on a Cyber Immune system are ineffective — they continue to function even in an aggressive environment and stop potential attackers in their tracks. The lineup of our KasperskyOS solutions has been rigorously tested by our partners and clients, and I am confident in saying that the future of cybersecurity lies in Cyber Immunity – and this future is happening here and now.

We invite you to read our exclusive review of Kaspersky Thin Client.

Kaspersky Lab emphasized that the Kaspersky Thin Client may be in demand in government, commercial structures, industrial enterprises, particularly in the energy sector, educational and healthcare institutions, financial structures and retail. At the moment, it is already being purchased for government agencies, industrial enterprises and educational organizations, the company added.
