Wallet 2.0: a Fully-Fledged Cryptocurrency Wallet inside Telegram

The TON Foundation has informed Durov's Code about the latest updates to the @wallet bot, which allows users to buy, store and send cryptocurrency directly from person to person via Telegram chats.

The new @wallet update has been described by TON Foundation members as "a small revolution" in the convenience and speed with which new users are introduced to Toncoin and other cryptocurrencies. It includes changing the interface to a bank-like interface using Telegram’s open WebApps platform. In addition, there is an option to save payment details, which will make buying Toncoin in Telegram easier, and thanks to the integration of @wallet and Sum&Substance, necessary KYC procedures can now be performed directly in the app.

These innovations have greatly simplified the P2P transfer of Toncoin in Telegram chats. However, there is only one requirement for sending Toncoin - the recipient's Telegram nickname. As for the commission, there is no transaction fee when sending or receiving Toncoin.

Since it was introduced, more than 1 million wallet addresses have been created, and the @wallet bot has had an operating turnover in excess of $5 million.
