Elon Musk's Starlink annnounced that satellite-internet service is now available for boats.

The price for permanent access to the intener will cost you a little fortune - Starlink Maritime is priced at $5,000 per month, plus an initial $10,000 fee that covers two high-performance satellite dishes.

Starlink promises to deliver download speeds of 350 Mbps. For comparison, regular Starlink internet costs $110 per month, along with $599 for the necessary hardware.

According to the company, Starlink Maritime can withstand extreme weather, which is quite important for ships travelling across the oceans.

Starlink says its product is suited for uses "from merchant vessels to oil rigs to premium yachts." It said it has been using the service to film SpaceX rocket landings at sea.
