Meta, the parent company of Instagram and Threads, has officially introduced a new feature allowing users to limit political content in their timelines.

This move comes in response to user feedback and aims to provide users with more control over the type of content they see on their feeds.

The new option, enabled by default, prevents Instagram and Threads from proactively recommending political content from accounts users do not follow. Instead, users will only see political content from accounts they choose to follow. However, users have the flexibility to manually opt-in to view political content if they wish.

A Meta spokesperson confirmed the rollout of this feature, although its availability may vary depending on users' regions. To access the new toggle, users can navigate to their Account Settings menu on Instagram or Threads, then select the "Suggested Content" option and choose "Political Content" if available.

This setting impacts content suggestions across various sections such as Explore, Reels, Feed, and Suggested Users, applying to both Instagram and Threads.
