Russian IT company Technologico presented a unique application of augmented reality (AR) technology in smart home automation, at GITEX GLOBAL in Dubai, the company's press-office told Durov's Code.

The company has developed technology for smart home automation that is unparalleled in the market. Maxim Stock, interaction designer at Technologico, said:

We want to be the first to create developments according to new trends. AR is a new revolutionary way of consuming content and interacting with it. We decided to give a consumer an opportunity to manage smart home devices without outdated screen mediators such as 2D UI. Of course, in future this would be more convenient with portable devices such as smart glasses or lenses. But for the moment only smartphones and tablets can be used to communicate with the AR layer.

The company's product is an interactive interface for managing a smart home. The company notes that the lack of restrictions is a competitive advantage for potential customers and clients.

This technology controls smart home functions such as lighting, motorised curtains, climate or audio by touching an iPad screen that displays the room just as it does in reality.

Technologico plans to gamify this AR experience to allow consumers to play with the smart home.

In addition, the company notes that this technology is useful in dozens of fields and industries, such as enterprise solutions, medicine, navigation, construction, development, manufacturing, advertising and others. AR enables professionals to gain an additional native layer of information without on-screen intermediaries in their work.
